Your Voice

By Patricia Hasen
I was deployed to Al Asad, Iraq, with the Alpha Surgical Company.
We had a restricted amount of weight that we could bring with us which hindered the amount of medical reference books we could bring.
As well, I wanted a quick reference at the tip of my fingers, readily available.
I used the drug reference in the trauma bays as well as while flying my more critical patients (in helicopters) to Baghdad, Balad and Abu Garhab Prison. It was extremely useful to point, click and get the information immediately.
Now that I'm back into clinical I encourage others to get a handheld and various Skyscape programs on it, to include the IV drug handbook.
