By James Austin
TMAP is the kind of reference work that PDAs were made for. It provides a quick, easy, practical reference that you can carry in your pocket. Two years since you last did an ankle block? Forgotten what to look out for in a patient with carcinoid syndrome? Not sure what the surgery for a kidney transplant involves? You'll find it all here at the touch of a stylus.

TMAP is not the place to look for explanations of nerve physiology or the inner workings of a ventilator. But that's not what you carry a PDA for - you'll go to a text or to the internet to find that stuff. When you want quick, practical advice in a hurry, TMAP is ideal. I found it easy to install, and easy to access the info I need. I have both TMAP and ClinAne on my PDA, and I probably refer to TMAP ten times as much as I look at ClinAne.
I thouroughly recommend TMAP for the anaesthetic trainee, or for any working anaesthetist.
