The journal is published by the National Center for Chronic Disease Prevention and Health Promotion, one of eight centers within the CDC.
The mission of the journal is to address the interface between applied prevention research and public health practice in chronic disease prevention. PCD focuses on preventing diseases such as cancer, heart disease, diabetes, and stroke, which are among the leading causes of death and disability in the United States. This valuable information can now be quickly disseminated to the handhelds of the medical community.
