Buzz · Reach

A link is all they need

BuzzLink brings patients, family members and outside partners into Buzz from a secure link sent by text or email. They tap it and take part from their own phone. Nothing to download, no account to create.

A conversation with the care team

Good morning. How are you feeling today?

A little tired, but the new dressing is holding up.

It opens in the browser they already have, with no account to create.

Illustration with made-up details. The signing and video surfaces belong to BuzzFlow and BuzzVideo; BuzzLink is how someone without Buzz reaches them.

The problem

The last step asks the most of the person least able to do it.

Everything about a virtual visit or a consent form can be ready, and the whole thing still stalls at the same place: an app store, an account, a password. The person being asked is a patient at home, or an adult child two states away, often on a phone they barely use that way.

So the visit does not happen, the form comes back on paper, or someone's personal cell number becomes the workaround.

What this replaces
  • An app download and account for a one-time video visit
  • Consent forms that come back on paper
  • A personal cell number used as the workaround

How it works

Send. Tap. Take part.

BuzzLink is one step on the clinician's side and one tap on theirs.

1 · Send

A secure link, by text or email

The clinician sends a BuzzLink from the patient's group. It goes out as an SMS or an email, to whoever needs to be in the room.

2 · Tap

It opens in their own browser

No app store, no license, no account. The link opens on the phone or computer they already have in their hand.

3 · Take part

It lands in the patient's thread

A signed document returns to the patient's thread and stays with the record the care team works from. The care team stays in Buzz throughout, and the person on the other end needs nothing but the link.

What a link can carry

Three things you send people who do not have Buzz.

Reach

A conversation

A patient, a family member or an outside partner takes part in the thread without being a Buzz user.

Runs on BuzzChat.

Reach

A video visit

The patient taps the link and joins securely from home. A family member can join part of the session when it is appropriate.

Runs on BuzzVideo.

Reach

A form to sign

An intake coordinator can text a signature request ahead of the first visit, so the paperwork is done before anyone is at the door.

Runs on BuzzFlow.

In practice

Before a counseling session

A therapist sends a secure BuzzLink by text or email before the session. The client joins from wherever they are, on whatever they have.

In practice

A family conference

An adult child in another state gets a link by text or email and joins the care conversation by video from a browser, so the people making decisions hear the same thing at the same time.

Safety and privacy

A link reaches outside your organization. That is the whole point, and the whole risk.

Link lifetime

A link for a video visit is for that visit, not a standing door into the patient's thread.

Who opens it

The care team chooses who receives a link and sends it to that person by text or email.

What it exposes

A guest joins the visit, form or conversation they were sent. They use a browser, so no app on a shared family phone holds health information.

Start small

Start with the patients who never get past the app store.

Pick the workflow that stalls most often — a first video visit, or the consent form that keeps coming back on paper — and send it as a link instead.

Monthly, quarterly or annual terms, whichever suits the way your agency budgets. You are never locked in against your will, and the notice period is 60 days. Per user, per month, at about the price of a venti latte at the airport.

Questions agencies ask

Does the patient need to install Buzz?

No. The patient gets an SMS or an email from the provider and opens the link from there.

Do they need an account, or a license?

No. BuzzLink works without downloading additional software and without a license for the person receiving it.

Can family members join as well as the patient?

Yes. The link can go to family members, and a family member can join part of a session when it is appropriate.

Will you sign a BAA?

Yes. A business associate agreement is offered, handled by the Skyscape sales team.

How long does a link stay live, and can we revoke one?

A link for a video visit is for that visit, not a standing door into the patient's thread. The care team decides who receives one.

What does the person on the other end see of our group?

They join the visit, form or conversation they were sent, from a browser, with nothing installed on their device.

What do we have to do to turn it on?

For an agency on Buzz, a clinician sends a BuzzLink from the patient's group by text or email. Book a demo and we will walk through setup for your organization.

BuzzLink is part of Buzz, the clinical communication platform from Skyscape. It is how people outside your organization reach BuzzVideo, BuzzFlow and BuzzChat.
