Concept-Based Learning and Handheld Technology: Clinical Reasoning on the Fly
March 1, 2013
Presented by Tim J. Bristol, PhD, RN, CNE, ANEF
Clinical reasoning is essential for nurses to manage the incredible volume of information
headed their way. This is why concept-based learning is becoming such an integral
part of all what we do in education. Managing large volumes of information requires
nurses to be able to understand key concepts, while quickly accessing just-in-time
knowledge management.
In this seminar, we will explore the strategies that help your students develop
clinical reasoning skills during concept-based learning. Through an exploration
of mobile technology (phones, tablets, iPads, and more), we will see how clinical
reasoning on the fly, can be an integral part of classroom, clinical, and lab learning
experiences.
