Q: Attempting to install on Pocket PC running Windows Mobile 5.0 and above and receiving error: installation was unsuccessful. The program or settings cannot be installed because it does not have sufficient system permissions or insufficient memory.
A: This error is due to insufficient memory available on the device's main memory to expand the cab files. On a device running the Windows Mobile 5.0  and above operating system, in order to expand the cab files for the product you need 2 times the memory required for the program even if you are installing it to a memory card that has sufficient memory available.

Please try the following steps to install the program to your memory card.

Section I: Install the Reader File

  1. Soft reset your device 
  2. Double Click on My Computer
  3. On your desktop PC Go to C:\ Drive | Skyscape | <Program Name> (ex. Tabers20) | <Version Folder> (ex. 8.1.4) | Install 
  4. Locate the following file:  setupreaderpoc.arm.cab (PPC) and setupreaderWSP.arm.cab (smartphone)
  5. Hold down the ctrl button on your keyboard and select each file. Right click and select copy or go to Edit menu at the top of the screen and choose copy. 
  6. Connect your PDA to the device and sync it up 
  7. Open ActiveSync on your desktop PC
  8. Click the Explore button 
  9. Double click on My Pocket PC/Mobile Device
  10. Browse to the Storage Card folder.
  11. Click on the Storage Card folder to open.
  12. Click edit and then paste.
  13. Close this window.
  14. On the Pocket PC device go to Start | Programs | File Explorer
  15. Locate the Storage Card folder where you copied the cab files
  16. Tap on the setupreader.POC.arm.cab and the file will install itself to your storage card. 
Section II: Install the Data files

  1. On a Windows Mobile 5.0 or above device, the data files need to be copied into the same location as the Reader file that was  installed in the first section. You have to locate this reader file first to be certain of it's installation location. On the device tap on Start | Programs | File Explorer | SD Card (if installed to this location) | Program Files | Skyscape | <Program Name> (i.e. Tabers20) and confirm that you see the file name there. It will be shown as the product name.
  2. On the desktop pc, go to C | Skyscape | <Program Name>Ce (ex. Tabers20ce) | Install | Data Files
  3. Select all of the files here, right click and select copy.
  4. On the desktop pc, open ActiveSync.
  5. Click Explore.
  6. Double click on My Windows Mobile-Based Device
  7. Follow the same path to the exe file (i.e. SD Card | Program Files | Skyscape | Tabers20)
  8. Click Edit and then Paste
  9. Test the program
Automated registration:
  1. Double click on the "My Skyscape" icon on your Desktop to open it.  Left click on the W-Mobile (PocketPC) tab.  Left click on the Register link.
  2. Follow the onscreen prompts.
  3. Sync your device.
    OR

Manual registration:

  1. Go to www.skyscape.com/register to register your serial number and the device id as it is listed on the unlock screen on your device.
  2. Enter the unlock code generated on the device.
