Clone a care group in one step: every new patient starts with the right team

September 10, 2024 · Skyscape Medpresso Inc.

At a glance

Many agencies run one Buzz group per patient. With group and category cloning, a new admission gets its care group in one touch, with the right participants from day one and every group setting inherited. New team members can join later and see the history, and BuzzStream connects the group to the patient's EHR record.

— Skyscape today announced group and category cloning in Buzz, built for agencies that coordinate each patient's care in a dedicated group.

The problem it solves

A care group per patient keeps every order, visit note and family update in one place. But each admission meant building that group from scratch: naming it, filing it in the right category, setting it up and adding the same nurse, therapist, aide, social worker and office staff one at a time. On a busy intake day, groups started late or incomplete. When someone joined the team mid-episode, they had no way to catch up on what had already been said. And anyone who needed the patient's chart had to log in to the EHR, which meant another seat to pay for and another login to juggle between visits.

What is now available

The workflow it streamlines

At admission, intake clones the template and names the group for the patient. The care team is in the conversation from the first message, with the patient's EHR details alongside. When a new therapist or a covering nurse joins, they read the history and pick up where the team left off. Administrators and intake coordinators welcome it as a big time saver, and agencies keep EHR licenses for the people who chart.

A group per patient is the right way to run care. Cloning makes it a one-touch start, and BuzzStream means the team has the chart without everyone needing a login to it. Sandeep Shah, Founder and CEO, Skyscape
