SmartLink to other Application(s)

All Skyscape applications employ a feature called SmartLink to automatically link to the items discussed in the current topic with other powered-by Skyscape references.

This feature can be activated by tapping on the link icon which located at the top of the screen. The list of Skyscape applications stored on the WinCE/PocketPC will then be displayed. If you click on the Link button while you are in the Main Index screen, it will just open up the application selected from the link list.

Our Clinical References provide information about medications while discussing the clinical topics in the reference. While reading this information, you may like to check the drugs associated with the topic and the actual monograph, you can use the SmartLink feature to link to one of our Drug Guide applications. When you click on the Drug Guide application, there will be a pop-up for the list of drugs discussed in the topic. (Note that in certain cases, there may not be any medications discussed for a particular topic - in that case, you will hear a warning beep instead of receiving the displayed drug list). Once in the Drug Guide, you have the ability to view all the information associated with that drug. The SmartLink feature saves you valuable time by only showing drugs in the Drug Guide that are used to treat the clinical condition you were reviewing. After consulting the Drug Guide application, you may like to also check for drug interactions. Tap on the link icon, to link to one of our Drug Interaction Analyzer products.

Finding Drug Information

In the sequence shown below, the topic on "Altitude Illness" is used as an example. As you can see, there are 4 drugs discussed in the topic and they are listed alphabetically. If you are interested in Acetazolamide, you can click on the term in the list and you will be taken to the listing of Acetazolamide, as displayed in one of our Drug Guide applications (as seen the middle screen). If you choose Aspirin, you will be taken to the topic on Salicylates (as seen in the right screen).

By choosing the history button (the icon which is 5th from the left with an 'h'), you will be brought back to the topic on "Altitude Illness".

Linking between products

In some cases, you may find that the drug listed is not in our Drug Guide. In that case a message will appear indicating that the drug you chose is not in the application. You will then be given the opportunity to go into the Drug Guide application(as shown below). If you confirm, the Drug Guide application will then be opened on the handheld device.
