A nurse came up to me in the hallway of the Emergency Department and said, "Your patient thinks that you are wonderful and he has been singing your praises all the way out of the emergency department."
I responded "What did I do to deserve that?" She responded that he was very impressed that I could look up their medications in the room with him and evaluate his medications and tell him that the symptoms that he was having were from a drug-drug interaction.
I said that what I had done was not all that impressive and really should be the standard of care for all physicians. My nurse responded that regardless, my patient was very happy and felt that he was treated by a physician who was using the latest technology to help him.
